HOUSTON (AP)—U.S. striker Brian Ching will be sidelined for during least severalweeks after spiteful his left hamstring personification for Major League Soccer’s HoustonDynamo, an injury that could hamper his preparations for a World Cup.

Dynamo orator Lester Gretsch said Ching was re-evaluated by group doctorsFriday, but no MRI was taken since of a Good Friday holiday. He says Chingwill be out during least a couple of weeks but a projected length of a layoff won’t beknown until early subsequent week.

Ching was substituted in a Dynamo’s home opener against Real Salt Lake onThursday night since of a strain.

The 31-year-old from Hawaii done his inhabitant group entrance in 2003 and has 11goals in 44 general appearances. He was in a 2006 World Cup patrol butdidn’t play in Germany.

With Sochaux’s Charlie Davies still sidelined since of serious injuriessustained in an Oct car crash, a U.S. is capricious who will startalongside Hull’s Jozy Altidore. Ching and Colorado striker Conor Casey have beencompeting to have a 23-man squad.

The U.S. group will gather in mid-May ahead of the World Cup opener againstEngland on June 12 in Rustenburg, South Africa. The Americans have exhibitionsagainst a Czech Republic (May 25 during East Hartford, Connecticut), Turkey (May29 during Philadelphia) and Australia (June 5 during Roodepoort, South Africa) beforemeeting England.
