BRASILIA, Brazil (AP)—Brazil’s sports apportion says some cities slated to hostWorld Cup games in 2014 may be removed from a list if they don’t startrefurbishing their stadiums or set up new ones soon.
Orlando Silva says many cities did not encounter a Mar 31 deadline to beginrenovating their stadiums or set up new ones. Unless they encounter a seconddeadline upon May 3, they run a risk of being released from a World Cup.
FIFA has approved 12 cities to host a 2014 games in Brazil. Silva sayseight would be enough for a event. He did not contend what cities were runningbehind schedule.
Silva made his remarks upon Friday at a business forum.
